I would like to remind the world that this web series is inspired by the wonderful help and psychic abilities of James Austin Johnson.  The man I will forever now refer to as “JAG” because I loved that woman on that television show so much.

Also, the comedy world seemingly mourns the loss of one of our brothers and sisters each week and I feel like Ron Shock was very influential to me for various reasons that I hope to detail in a proper tribute blog to him later this week.  I will fucking miss you, Ron.

The world becomes smaller every single day that passes and our dreams become closer with each moment we recall.  Do you recall the last thing you dreamt?  Can you find it within yourself to know if you have done right by what you have put inside yourself today?  These questions are answered in the latest episode of Dreams.

Episode Epsilon

Episode Delta is a free-fall.  We all have fallen, dreamed of falling, and seen others fall.  We often laugh when we see people fall, but seldom is it funny when we do it ourselves.  At least not initially.  This examines what it feels like for me and how it happens in my dreams when I am falling.  Always falling.  Sometimes I land hard and sometimes not at all.

I love you James Austin Johnson.

That’s right, you read that correctly.  I was interviewed by a journalist over in Poland who writes for the site www.laugh.pl.  We used that magical portal of voice known as Skype and did it that way.  I am going to keep my insecurities and pet-peeves about myself to myself and post the interview here ( Ryan_Singer_2012 ) and you can listen to it if that sounds like something interesting to you.  Or you can click on the above link or the photo up top to go to the page where its housed.  Who uses the term “housed” when referring to this stuff?

It was an interesting interview and I had fun talking to my new friend,  Marcin from Poland (sorry, I lost the place where you had your last name listed as I’m a bastard).

My name is Ryan Singer and I’m from the United States.  I’m an American.

I have A LOT of upcoming shows in Los Angeles the next couple months because I am off the road until July as of now.  The new album is being put together as we speak and I think I’m going to like it more than the first one.  I hope you guys do.  I will be recording a DVD this summer and I have really high hopes for it.  It will involve animation and stand up comedy all mixed together, but only have stand up audio.  Make sense?  Probably not.  The venue is still to be determined, but it will be either Dayton or Cincinnati where we will film.

Special shout out to Sue Harmeyer and Adam Collins for achieving R.S.V.P. status by coming out to multiple CD recording shows at Go Bananas!  As of yesterday (5/4/12) I have received word that the cards arrived in the mail and I’ll pick them up when I am back in Ohio in July.  It will be Christmas in July for you guys!

Episode Gamma takes us on the journey that is all too familiar to every single person that has ever lived or will ever live on this planet that is covered in its majority by water.  It is our life force, our sustaining grace, and our most important ally moving forward.

In case you were not able to understand the purpose of this web series or you are watching this episode without having seen the first two, just stop trying to think so gosh darn hard and know that they are dreams and exploration of those dreams.  Just try to enjoy something for once, you big silly.

Sometimes I miss the old world…it seemed to have every thing that I had wanted.

Ryan Singer’s Dreams will be an exploration into the subconscious to find the fundamental things that bind us all together as human beings.  Be are being human because we are human beings.  This is where it all begins, thus this web series will be chronicled starting with “Episode Alpha.”

These will be peeks into the most vulnerable parts of my mind and I hope you enjoy them.  If you have any weird or so weird or just so very weird dreams you want to email me about, please do so and maybe I’ll incorporate them into something wonderful!

Cincinnati comedian P.F. Wilson has a podcast called “P.F.’s Tape Recorder” and I was a guest on it.  I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma when we recorded this via Skype.  My throat was in a sort of funk, so if my audio quality is not all that great, I apologize.  I think it turned out okay, but maybe I am judging myself a bit when I listen to these things.

I enjoyed talking with P.F. and have in the past.  Just a reminder that this weekend (Thursday – Saturday) I am going to be recording a new album at Go Bananas Comedy Club.  It should be fun.  I’ve been away from home for a couple weeks and seem to be holding together fine so far.  Maybe we can reach just the right amount of crazy and “road” to get an electric recording and an album that I am proud of having made.

My goal has always been to make a better record than the first one.  I get nervous thinking about whether or not this one is better.  I like the first one, but feel like this album might be a bit more like me.  I just don’t know.  I probably won’t know until later and I have a little perspective on it.  I do know that it is fun as hell performing the material and I hope that translates to the audience.  It really is quite a luxury to be in a spot to record a new one with all the great people involved and those others that have helped along the way.

I’m a lucky bastard and for the record, I have NOT forgotten that.

This is going to happen whether I like it or not.  I will be at Go Bananas Comedy Club Easter weekend (April 5-7) recording my new album, “Comedy Wonder Town.”  I would love it if you came out to all of the shows.  That’s right, not just one of the shows, or two, or three, but all of them.  If you come out Thursday night ESPECIALLY and then at least 2 more of the shows, you’ll get an insane gift bag from me to you.

This is going to be a comedy show that should be wonderful.  At least, it is my hope that it will be full of wonder.  Since I am recording a new album I will not be doing some of the bits you may know already.  But, fear not, as I hope that some of the bits you have not heard will be equally enjoyable to you and your ear holes.  I think my journey as a stand up comedian is still in the early stages and am glad that if you are reading this you are helping me along my path.  I am encouraged by the direction of my comedy and there are too many people to thank here at this time for that happening.

Amber Preston from Minneapolis will be featuring all the shows that weekend.  She is splendid, funny, awesome, and you’re going to love her.  I am certain of that fact.  Are there some great comics in Cincinnati that could have featured for me?  You bet your sweet ass there are, but you might not have had the chance to discover Amber if we kept it all in-house so to speak.  That is why that is happening and also because I like watching her tell jokes and I am being selfish.

I am Wichita, Kansas, right now as I write this and had a great weekend.  The last time I worked here I did not have the same experience.  I was a bit skeptical that these audiences were going to go along for some of the journeys we would take, but they did for the most part.  I am off to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in two days to do one more weekend of shows tuning up for the recording weekend.  If these jokes can work out here where Rick Santorum wins, they should be just fine in a club that I am deeply in love with and always have been.

I’d be lying if I said I was not nervous.  I feel like this guy. But, trust that I will overcome because its Amore!

April 4th I will be performing at the University of Kentucky with Sam Evans and I am certain that it will be glorious.  If you live close by and want to hear what my new album might sound like it will be the last time I am able to run it before I can record it.

In other news, if I have seemed a bit detached from it all lately it is because I have immersed myself into Comedy Wonder Town once again, but the album not the pilot this time.  One must work to find their peace.  My peace has been anywhere but of my mind lately and Comedy Wonder Town just might save the day yet again.  Come join me and let us go on this journey towards trying to make quality art together.  I need you.  Yea, you.  I am talking directly to you.  I really fucking need you.  Thanks.
